The grey-tailed tattler and the very similar wandering tattler are elegant, medium-sized waders that can be a challenge to separate. The English name for the tattlers refers to their noisy call. The bill is rather long and straight. In non-breeding plumage it is grey. During their wintering season to Labuan (Victoria) Island, this shore bird can be easily spotted among others shore bird all around the smaller Island of Rusukan and Kuraman to Sg. Labu shoal and the Nagalang shore.
